Elevation Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with our client to recruit an ambitious and motivated Assistant Management Accountant to join their busy finance team based in LS25, Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their management accounting skills within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
The RoleAs an Assistant Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the finance function and contributing to the production of accurate and timely financial information. Working closely with the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Supporting month-end and year-end close processes
- Preparing and posting accruals, prepayments and journal entries
- Conducting balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities
- Producing financial reports and analysis to support business decision-making
- Supporting cash flow reporting and monitoring
- Assisting with audit preparation and statutory reporting requirements
- Working closely with operational teams to provide financial insight and support
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and controls
- Previous experience in a finance role with exposure to management accounts
- Part-qualified AAT, ACCA or CIMA, or actively studying towards a professional qualification
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or similar ERP systems
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data analysis
- Proactive and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
- A positive, adaptable, and team-oriented approach
- Salary up to £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
