Assistant Management Accountant (9-Month Fixed Term Contract)

SF Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a Nottingham-based business to recruit an **Assistant Management Accountant** on a **full-time, 9-month fixed-term contract**.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a well-established organisation and support the finance team during a key period. Working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end activities and providing valuable insight to stakeholders across the business.

Salary & Benefits

**£32,000 - £36,000 DOE**

* 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
* Hybrid working - 3 days working from home

The Role

You will be responsible for processing financial transactions, maintaining balance sheet reconciliations and supporting the production of accurate financial reporting. This role offers broad exposure across the finance function and would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and can quickly build strong relationships across the business.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Analysing a high volume of accounts on a day-to-day basis
* Completing weekly and monthly balance sheet reconciliations
* Producing weekly margin reports by collating and analysing data from multiple sources
* Posting journals, including accruals and prepayments
* Calculating and processing customer rebates
* Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
* Responding to finance-related queries from internal stakeholders
* Producing monthly P&L reports and supporting effective cost tracking
* Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies
* Liaising with Payroll, Purchase Ledger and Credit Control teams to resolve queries and maintain financial accuracy

The Successful Candidate

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Previous experience in a finance role with exposure to month-end processes
* Experience supporting the preparation of management accounts
* Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* A proactive and self-motivated approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across the business
* The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
