About the role of Assistant Quantity Surveyor

As Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be joining the commercial team of a privately-owned main contractor founded over 20 years ago. They specialise in high-end commercial, refurbishments, fit outs, heritage restoration, luxury residential schemes and complex structural projects across Central London.

They have a reputation for delivering technically demanding projects with premium finishes and operate across the commercial, residential, leisure, hospitality, retail, education and historic sectors. The business show strong cash reserves, improving margins and healthy net assets with a competitive edge in the London market. Due to their strong upcoming pipeline, they are looking to add resilience and strengthen their commercial team.

Key Responsibilities of Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Include but not limited to:

  • Assisting with cost planning and budgeting for construction projects
  • Preparing tender documents and helping with procurement of subcontractors
  • Reviewing subcontractor quotations and comparing costs
  • Supporting valuations, interim payments and final accounts
  • Monitoring project costs and reporting cost variations
  • Assisting with contract administration including JCT contracts

Key Requirements of Assistant Quantity Surveyor

  • Degree educated in a construction related subject
  • Approximately 2-3 years of experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at a Main Contractor
  • 2-stage procurement experience is ideal but not essential
  • Live within commutable distance to Central London
