GRADUATE / ASSISTANT QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Our client is a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor looking to recruit a Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor to work on one on the most exciting current civil engineering projects on the south coast. They’re keen to receive applications from Graduates looking for their first commercial role or from Assistant-level QS’s looking to further develop their experience.

This role offers the chance to learn from experienced professionals, develop your commercial skills, and build a strong foundation in Quantity Surveying within a supportive and collaborative environment.

As a Graduate / Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor and the site delivery teams, gaining practical experience across the full commercial lifecycle of projects. You will be hands-on, while developing your understanding of NEC4 Option C contract.

As part of the commercial team, you will gain experience in:

• Applications for payment
• Project valuations
• Site measurements
• Change control and compensation events
• Subcontractor payment processes
• Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR)
• Early warning notices
• Risk register updates
• Commercial reporting / forecasting
• Supporting dispute resolution
• Assisting with final accounts

Role requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Full UK driving licence
• A positive attitude to learning
