Assistant Site Manager – Residential

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager to join a main contractor on a residential development based in Barnstaple. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to move into a permanent role for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will support the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with daily site management on a residential development
- Supervising subcontractors and trades on site
- Monitoring progress and helping maintain programme targets
- Supporting health & safety compliance, inductions, and toolbox talks
- Carrying out quality checks and managing snagging works
- Coordinating deliveries and site logistics
- Liaising with the Site Manager, subcontractors, and client team
- Ensuring site standards and housekeeping are maintained
Requirements:
- Assistant Site Manager experience with a main contractor
- Strong residential housing background essential
- SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, and First Aid preferred
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Ability to commit to long-term work
