Assistant Site Manager – Residential

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Site Manager to join a main contractor on a residential development based in Barnstaple. This is a long-term opportunity with the potential to move into a permanent role for the right candidate.

The successful applicant will support the Site Manager with the day-to-day running of the site, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily site management on a residential development
  • Supervising subcontractors and trades on site
  • Monitoring progress and helping maintain programme targets
  • Supporting health & safety compliance, inductions, and toolbox talks
  • Carrying out quality checks and managing snagging works
  • Coordinating deliveries and site logistics
  • Liaising with the Site Manager, subcontractors, and client team
  • Ensuring site standards and housekeeping are maintained

Requirements:

  • Assistant Site Manager experience with a main contractor
  • Strong residential housing background essential
  • SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, and First Aid preferred
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to commit to long-term work
