A leading UK main contractor is seeking an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join the team on a major flagship development in Cardiff. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day management of site operations, helping to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards of quality.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Supporting the Site Management team with daily site operations
- Assisting in coordinating subcontractors and site activities across the project
- Monitoring works to ensure programme and quality standards are achieved
- Promoting and maintaining high standards of health and safety on site
- Assisting with site inspections, reporting and quality assurance processes
- Helping manage logistics, deliveries and site coordination activities
- Supporting progress meetings and communication with subcontractors and consultants
- Monitoring workmanship and ensuring works are completed in line with specifications
- Assisting with snagging, handover and project close-out activities
- Maintaining accurate site records and documentation
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in an Assistant Site Manager or supervisory role within construction
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced site environment
- Eagerness to learn and develop within a leading main contractor environment
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures on construction projects
- Valid CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid qualification preferred
- Relevant construction qualification preferred (HNC, NVQ or equivalent)
- Positive attitude with strong attention to detail and willingness to progress
