A leading UK main contractor is seeking an ambitious Assistant Site Manager to join the team on a major flagship development in Cardiff. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the region’s most high-profile construction projects and work alongside an experienced management team on a major build scheme.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day management of site operations, helping to ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the highest standards of quality.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the Site Management team with daily site operations
  • Assisting in coordinating subcontractors and site activities across the project
  • Monitoring works to ensure programme and quality standards are achieved
  • Promoting and maintaining high standards of health and safety on site
  • Assisting with site inspections, reporting and quality assurance processes
  • Helping manage logistics, deliveries and site coordination activities
  • Supporting progress meetings and communication with subcontractors and consultants
  • Monitoring workmanship and ensuring works are completed in line with specifications
  • Assisting with snagging, handover and project close-out activities
  • Maintaining accurate site records and documentation

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in an Assistant Site Manager or supervisory role within construction
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced site environment
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a leading main contractor environment
  • Good understanding of health and safety procedures on construction projects
  • Valid CSCS card, SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid qualification preferred
  • Relevant construction qualification preferred (HNC, NVQ or equivalent)
  • Positive attitude with strong attention to detail and willingness to progress
