Our client is seeking an Assistant Town Planner to join their growing team. The Role

As an Assistant Town Planner, you will play an important role in supporting the delivery of planning advice and applications for a wide range of clients. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the preparation and submission of planning applications, appeals and representations.
  • Conducting planning policy research and site appraisals.
  • Preparing planning statements and supporting documentation.
  • Monitoring planning applications and liaising with local authorities and stakeholders.
  • Supporting senior planners with project management and client communications.
  • Attending client meetings, public consultations and site visits.
  • Keeping up to date with planning legislation, policy changes and industry developments.


About You

To be considered for this opportunity, you will ideally have:

  • A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline.
  • Working towards or keen to pursue MRTPI accreditation.
  • Previous planning experience gained through a consultancy, local authority, or relevant placement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to learning and professional development.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
