The Role

As a Pastoral Attendance Officer, you will:

Monitor and track student attendance across the school.
Identify patterns of absence and implement attendance interventions.
Conduct attendance meetings with parents, carers, and external agencies.
Support students with barriers to learning and school engagement.
Work alongside safeguarding, pastoral, and leadership teams.
Carry out home visits where appropriate.
Maintain accurate attendance records and reports.
Promote positive attendance and punctuality throughout the school.
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal Pastoral Attendance Officer will have:

Previous experience as a Pastoral Attendance Officer, Attendance Officer, Family Liaison Officer, Welfare Officer, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of attendance procedures and safeguarding practices.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Experience working with vulnerable young people.
The ability to manage challenging situations professionally and calmly.
Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Experience within a PRU, Alternative Provision, SEMH school, or SEN setting would be highly beneficial.
