An established and highly respected residential technology integrator is seeking an experienced Lead AV Installation Technician to join its growing team in New York City.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior AV professional who enjoys leading projects, mentoring junior technicians, and delivering high end smart home and integrated technology solutions for discerning residential clients.

Working on luxury residential projects, you will be responsible for overseeing installations from first fix through to commissioning, ensuring systems are delivered to the highest possible standard.

The Role

As Lead AV Installation Technician, you will take ownership of on site delivery, supporting project managers while leading installation teams and acting as the technical expert on site.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading AV and smart home installations across luxury residential projects
• Mentoring and developing junior technicians
• Managing installation quality, timelines, and technical standards
• Cable installation, termination, testing, and labelling
• Rack building and equipment installation
• Installation of televisions, projectors, displays, speakers, control systems, lighting keypads, and associated technologies
• Performing system testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and commissioning
• Working closely with project managers to provide site updates and resolve technical challenges
• Maintaining project documentation and daily progress reporting
• Coordinating with contractors, architects, designers, and clients on site
• Assisting with system programming, setup, and client demonstrations
• Supporting project completion, handover, and user training
• Participating in an on call support rota when required

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will have strong experience delivering residential AV and smart technology projects and be confident leading others in the field.

Requirements include:

• 5+ years of AV installation and integration experience
• Experience leading projects or supervising installation teams
• Strong understanding of audio, video, and control system technologies
• Experience with cable termination and infrastructure standards including fibre, coaxial, and structured cabling
• Knowledge of AV signal distribution and networking fundamentals
• Experience working with residential control systems and smart home technologies
• Familiarity with lighting control, shading systems, networking, and HVAC integration
• Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently
• Strong communication and client facing skills
• Comfortable working within luxury residential environments
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow project documentation
• Physically capable of lifting equipment and working on active construction sites

Preferred qualifications:

• OSHA and site safety certifications
• Valid driver's licence
• Experience with industry leading control, automation, networking, and lighting platforms
