Overview
We are seeking a skilled AV Designer to join a growing team delivering high-quality audiovisual solutions across both residential and commercial environments.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio-from high-end residential installations to corporate and collaborative spaces-requiring a balanced understanding of technical performance, user experience, and design integration.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in AV system design and a collaborative approach, with the ability to adapt across project types. Experience in both residential and commercial AV is highly valued, though candidates with deep expertise in either discipline and an interest in expanding their scope are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Design AV systems for a mix of residential and commercial projects, ensuring technical excellence and usability
• Translate client requirements into clear, well-structured system designs and documentation
• Produce detailed schematics and drawings using AutoCAD
• Review project documentation including architectural drawings, RFPs, and existing system information
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, designers, architects, and consultants
• Develop proposals including equipment specifications, scope, and cost estimates
• Coordinate with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure appropriate product selection
• Maintain accurate, organised design documentation throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide technical support during project delivery and installation phases
• Stay current with AV technologies, standards, and industry best practices

Experience & Skills

• 5+ years' experience in AV design, engineering, or a related field
• Strong understanding of AV system design principles, signal flow, and best practices
• Experience in residential AV, commercial AV, or both
• Familiarity with unified communications platforms (Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet)
• Working knowledge of IP networking fundamentals
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Revit or similar tools is advantageous
• Strong competency in Microsoft Excel and project documentation tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications (Preferred)

• CTS or CTS-D certification
• Manufacturer certifications (e.g. Crestron, Q-SYS, Lutron, Savant, Control4, Biamp, Shure, Extron)
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
