We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor to join a supportive primary school in the Hillingdon area.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with behavioural, emotional, and additional learning needs, helping them to engage positively with education and reach their full potential.
About the Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils across the primary age range who may require additional support with behaviour, emotional regulation, social skills, and classroom engagement.
You will work alongside teachers, SEN staff, pastoral teams, and parents to provide targeted support both inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group behavioural support
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Support children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needs
- Assist with emotional regulation and de-escalation strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour and classroom engagement
- Support pupils during lessons, transitions, and break times
- Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to implement support plans
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people essential
- Experience within schools, SEN settings, youth work, or mentoring desirable
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to build rapport with vulnerable pupils
- Team Teach or behaviour management training advantageous but not essential
