We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading automotive accident repair centre based in Bridgend, seeking an experienced Body Repair Technician to join their night-shift team.

This Night-Shift Vehicle Body Repair Technician position offers a 4-day guaranteed workweek from 6:00pm to 6:00am, Monday to Thursday. As a dedicated Body Repair Technician, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality vehicle repairs in a modern, well-equipped workshop environment. Duties as a Night-Shift Vehicle Body Repair Technician:
  • Remove damaged panels or parts for repair or replacement
  • Repair minor dents, scratches, and rusted areas using fillers and soldering techniques
  • Fit new panels when damage exceeds repairability
  • Prepare surfaces by stripping old paintwork, sealant, and rust
  • Match paint colours, prime, and spray finish repaired panels
  • Seal and wax repaired surfaces to high standards
  • Carry out Mechanical and Electrical Trim (MET), including stripping and fitting body panels
  • Complete repairs independently, ensuring high-quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment
  • Work efficiently within a fast-paced team setting
Requirements:
  • Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Bridgend
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence with minimal penalty points
  • Relevant IMI/NVQ qualifications in Vehicle Body Repair are highly advantageous but not essential
  • Proven practical experience in vehicle body repair, including panel, paint, and MET disciplines
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high standards of workmanship
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
  • Flexibility to work night shifts on a consistent basis
  • Individuals with significant practical experience but no formal qualifications will also be considered
