Bookkeeping Assistant (Part-time 22.5 hours)

This office based position offers approximately 22.5 hours per week, which can be worked across 3, 4, or 5 days, providing flexibility around working patterns. The role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who is looking to build their experience within an accountancy practice environment.
As a Bookkeeping Assistant, you will support the bookkeeping team with the accurate and timely processing of client financial records using a range of accounting software systems.
As a Bookkeeping Assistant, you will:
Process high volumes of client documentation accurately and efficiently into accounting systems, primarily Sage.
Match, batch, and code client documentation.
Ensure correct VAT treatment is applied to transactions at all times.
Process client expenses and maintain accurate financial records.
Input and reconcile bank transactions in line with team requirements and deadlines.
Support the Bookkeeping Manager and wider team with general bookkeeping tasks.
Assist the team in meeting client deadlines and maintaining high service standards.
Undertake additional duties as reasonably required in line with the needs of the role.
RequirementsEssential Skills and Qualifications:
Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively.
Basic understanding of bookkeeping principles or a willingness to learn and develop within the role.
Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, Dext, or QuickBooks would be advantageous.
Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Previous experience within an accountancy practice or bookkeeping environment would be beneficial, although not essential.
