Brake Press Setter Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Brake Press Setter to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and manual brake press machines to produce high-quality metal components according to engineering drawings and production specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and adjust brake press machines for production runs.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and work instructions.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings.
  • Program and operate CNC brake press equipment where required.
  • Perform first-off inspections and quality checks to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Monitor production runs and make adjustments as necessary to maintain quality standards.
  • Measure and inspect finished components using gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Complete production documentation and quality records accurately.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
Requirements Essential
  • Previous experience as a Brake Press Setter, Press Brake Operator, or similar manufacturing role.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Experience setting and operating CNC brake press machines.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
  • Experience with Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, or similar brake press equipment.
  • Forklift or overhead crane certification.
  • Engineering or manufacturing qualification.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Working Conditions
  • Manufacturing or workshop environment.
  • Standing for extended periods and handling metal components.
  • Shift work and overtime may be required depending on production demands.
