BSL Learning Support Assistant - Barnet

Full-Time - Commencing ASAP

A supportive and inclusive school in Barnet is seeking a dedicated BSL Learning Support Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This is a rewarding opportunity for an experienced support assistant with BSL Level 2 qualification or above who is passionate about helping deaf and hearing-impaired students access learning and thrive within the classroom environment.

The school has a strong SEN provision, a welcoming staff team, and a commitment to providing high-quality support for every pupil.

The successful BSL Learning Support Assistant will:

* Provide 1:1 and classroom support for pupils with hearing impairments
* Use British Sign Language to support communication and learning
* Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement support strategies
* Encourage pupil confidence, independence and engagement
* Support pupils both academically and socially throughout the school day
* Contribute positively to the wider school community

Applicants for this BSL Learning Support Assistant must:

* Hold a BSL Level 2 qualification or higher
* Have previous experience working with children or young people in a school setting
* Be patient, proactive and compassionate
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills
* Be committed to supporting inclusive education and pupil development
