Building Surveyor - Multi Disciplinary

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Building Surveyor to join a growing multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Durham. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic and collaborative team delivering a wide range of surveying and property consultancy services across both public and private sector projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertaking a wide range of building surveys and inspections
• Preparing detailed reports, specifications, and schedules of work
• Assisting with project management and contract administration duties
• Carrying out defect diagnosis and providing technical advice
• Supporting refurbishment, maintenance, and improvement projects
• Preparing planning and building regulation applications where required
• Liaising with clients, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders
• Assisting in the delivery of projects on time and within budget
• Ensuring compliance with current building regulations and health & safety standards
• Supporting junior team members where appropriate

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline
• Experience within a consultancy environment preferred
• Strong technical knowledge of building construction and property matters
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good organisational and project management abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and standard industry software
• Full UK driving licence preferred

Desirable

• MRICS qualified or working towards chartership
• Experience across commercial, education, residential, or public sector projects
• Knowledge of contract administration and project delivery
