We are excited to announce a new role for a Bus Service Analyst to join our Franchising Network team within the wider Bus Franchising Directorate. This is an incredible opportunity for you to contribute to the delivery of the mayor’s pledge to bring buses back under public control, introduce simpler fares, contactless ticketing, and greener buses. As part of the team, you will play a key role in West Yorkshire’s bus reform at a pivotal time, as the region transitions to a franchised bus network under local control.
As Bus Service Analyst, you will provide project, administrative and analytical support to the Bus Network team. This involves managing Bus Station departures to improve passenger experience and operational performance, helping design, cost and implement services in the new franchised bus network as part of the Combined Authority Bus Network Review programme.

The Role
Reporting into the Bus Service Coordinator, your key responsibilities will include:
· Operate and manage the Bus Station management system to manage bus station departures and allocate stands, liaising with Bus Station Managers, operators and other stakeholders.
· Review the specification of Bus Service Contracts through data abstraction/analysis to ensure they meet the Combined Authority’s value for money, accessibility, integration, efficiency, cost and operational standards.
· Analyse performance of ongoing Bus Services including punctuality, reliability, passenger and revenue numbers, alongside new Developments to capitalise on opportunities.

About You
You will have the following key skills, attributes, education and experience:
· A good understanding of scheduling and network planning.
· Extensive knowledge of bus operations and the passenger transport industry.
· Good knowledge of geographic and network issues in the transport industry.
· Understanding of local transport policies, including current legal/financial regime in which local public transport is delivered.
· Educated to A Level standard or equivalent relevant experience.
