My client a well established engineering manufacturer supplying equipment to regulated sectors is strengthening its procurement function and are looking for an an experienced Buyer to support their procurement team.

What you will be doing as a Buyer:

This is a hands-on procurement role within a technical environment. You’ll lead sourcing activity for engineered components, raw materials and specialist services, working closely with engineering, operations and quality to ensure compliant, cost-effective supply.

Key Responsibilities as a Buyer:

• Manage end-to-end procurement for engineered/fabricated items
• Lead RFQs, negotiations, and supplier performance management
• Experience in sourcing direct and indirect materials, consumables and services
• Onboard new suppliers, including low-cost country sourcing
• Support inventory control and improvement of procurement processes
• Act as a key ERP user during ongoing system and supply chain transformation

What we are looking for in the Buyer:

• Procurement experience in manufacturing/engineering
• Confident negotiator with solid commercial judgement
• Ability to interpret Technical and Engineering drawings
• Organised, detail-focused, and comfortable in a compliance-led environment
• Experience in sourcing direct and indirect materials, consumables and services
• CIPS (or working towards)
• Familiarity with MOD Security protocols and eligibility for SC Clearance

Experience:

• Manufacturing: 3 years (required)

• Commerical acumen, supplier negotiation and cost management : 3 years (required)
