Role Overview

An opportunity has arisen for a Buyer to join a commercial and procurement team supporting landscaping and external works projects across the Leighton Buzzard region.

The role sits within a specialist landscaping environment and focuses on the procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract services to support project delivery. This position would suit an experienced Buyer or an ambitious Assistant Buyer ready to step up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract packages for landscaping projects
  • Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to secure best value
  • Managing supplier relationships and performance
  • Preparing and issuing enquiries and analysing supplier returns
  • Placing purchase orders and managing procurement schedules
  • Supporting commercial and operational teams with procurement requirements
  • Monitoring market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks
  • Ensuring timely delivery of materials to site

About You

This role is suited to a proactive procurement professional with experience within landscaping, construction, or external works sectors.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a Buyer or Assistant Buyer role
  • Background in landscaping, construction, or a related sector
  • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Experience procuring materials and subcontract packages
  • A well-organised, detail-oriented, and commercially aware approach
