Are you an experienced Buyer from a technical manufacturing setting, looking to join a leading company that manufactures highly technical precision equipment?

On offer is a role with a company established over five decades ago which has grown to employ over 1200 people globally. Supplying primarily into the aerospace and defence industries, the company manufactures high performance cable assemblies with quality as their central focus.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for the timely, correct and cost-efficient provision of materials for manufacturing, re-sale and non-production items, ensuring that On Time Delivery to Customers is maintained.

The Role:

• Procurement of components and finished goods in a timely, cost effective and correct manner
• Procurement of 'non-production' materials, equipment, machinery and consumables in a timely, cost-effective manner
• Sourcing new suppliers as desirable or necessary
• Design, implementation and maintenance of Vendor Management Programme
• Liaising with Production Manager to ensure efficient provision of materials and provide correct delivery times to customers and delivery information to Sales
• Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information
• Maintain purchasing databases/ERP parameters to ensure efficient material flow

The Person:

• Working knowledge of Purchasing techniques and proven track record of cost savings and process improvement
