Buying Manager (Far East Sourcing)
Location: Hull (3–4 days per week on-site)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

Are you an experienced Buying or Sourcing professional looking for an opportunity to make a genuine impact within a fast-growing business? We are recruiting for a confidential Buying Manager position where you will play a central role in shaping and developing an international supply chain strategy to support ambitious growth plans. This is a highly visible role with responsibility for nearshore / Far Eastern sourcing, supplier development, commercial negotiation, and supply chain optimisation. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to build a scalable sourcing model that delivers cost efficiency, quality, and resilience.

The Role

As Buying Manager, you will take ownership of supplier strategy across Europe, nearshore markets, and Asia. You will identify and onboard new manufacturing partners, strengthen existing supplier relationships, and support the development of a dual-sourcing model across multiple regions. You will also lead supplier progression through different manufacturing models, from CMT through to full FOB, ensuring the supply chain evolves in line with business needs.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Identifying, evaluating, and onboarding new international suppliers
• Developing sourcing strategies across nearshore and Far East markets
• Managing supplier performance, capability, and long-term relationships
• Conducting detailed cost analysis and delivering savings opportunities
• Negotiating pricing, MOQs, lead times, and commercial terms
• Ensuring supplier compliance with relevant quality and safety standards
• Supporting technical product development across specialist apparel categories
• Working cross-functionally with operations, planning, and supply chain teams
• Driving efficiency improvements and supporting rapid business growth
• Undertaking international supplier visits approximately three times per year
  
  

About You

• Strong knowledge of global sourcing and overseas manufacturing
• Experience working with factories across Asia and/or nearshore regions
• Excellent negotiation and supplier management skills
• Strong analytical and cost modelling capability
• Understanding of compliance standards, quality systems, and manufacturing processes
• Confidence working independently in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to travel internationally as required
