A market-leading consultancy is seeking an experienced CAD / BIM Operator to join their well-established multidisciplinary engineering team. With over 30 years of delivering high-quality projects across the UK and internationally, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to complex and impactful work within the building services sector-including heritage and technically challenging environments.
Overview
This role focuses on producing and coordinating 2D AutoCAD drawings within a building services environment, while also working with Revit and BIM workflows. You will play a key role in supporting multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the delivery of accurate, compliant, and high-quality technical drawings aligned with UK standards.
The position will initially be office-based, transitioning to a hybrid model following the probation period.

Day-to-Day
- Collaborate closely with engineers to produce and refine technical drawings
- Interpret engineering and architectural drawings to ensure coordinated outputs
- Review, update, and maintain documentation in line with project requirements
- Contribute to multidisciplinary design coordination across varied projects
- Support the transition from office-based to hybrid working after onboarding
Key Responsibilities
- Convert engineering schematics into precise, accurate technical drawings
- Interpret and work from both engineering and architectural drawings
- Produce and coordinate drawings within BIM environments (Revit exposure beneficial)
- Review documentation to identify inconsistencies and ensure compliance with UK standards
- Incorporate key building services elements such as pipe sizing/diameters, wall thicknesses, and system layouts
- Support delivery on complex and heritage building projects, requiring careful coordination and attention to detail
- Assist in integrating fire strategy requirements into technical drawing packages
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure efficient and accurate project delivery
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience using AutoCAD (2D) within a building services environment
- Working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows
- Strong understanding of UK building services standards and regulations
- Experience interpreting both architectural and MEP drawings
- Familiarity with technical detailing such as pipework systems, spatial coordination, and construction constraints
- Experience working on heritage or complex building projects is highly advantageous
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
