Location: Newfield & Talbot School, Sheffield

Full-Time Position – Shift-Based Role

£29,153 + Over Time + 26 Days Leave + Bank Hols and a Company Pension

Our client, a leading provider of integrated facilities management and infrastructure solutions is hiring for a reliable and hands-on Caretaker to join our facilities team at Newfield & Talbot School supporting a unique school campus comprising both a mainstream school and an SEN school.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll play a key part in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-functioning environment for students, staff, and visitors. This is an important role supporting the smooth day-to-day operation of the school, helping to maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.

Working Hours

This role operates on a rotating shift pattern:

• Shift 1: 6:00am – 2:00pm
• Shift 2: 8:00am – 4:00pm
• Shift 3: 11:00am – 7:00pm

Flexibility is essential to cover all shifts as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Opening and closing the school site, ensuring buildings are secure
• Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks
• Monitoring and maintaining site safety and cleanliness
• Supporting contractors and overseeing site access where required
• Conducting routine inspections of facilities and reporting issues
• Assisting with room setups and site preparation for school activities and events
• Ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance, or facilities management (preferred)
• Practical DIY skills and the ability to carry out minor repairs
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently
• A proactive and flexible approach to work
• Strong awareness of health and safety practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills
