Job Summary
We are seeking 2 skilled Carpet Fitters. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining carpets in a variety of settings, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a practical individual with experience in construction-related tasks and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

• Measure and cut carpets accurately to fit designated areas using hand tools and power tools
• Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary adhesives or underlays
• Install carpets securely using appropriate techniques, including stretching and fixing
• Repair or replace damaged sections of carpet as required
• Interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise fitting
• Assist with related construction tasks such as carpentry or painting when necessary
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
• Use construction painting skills for finishing touches where applicable

Requirements

• Proven experience in carpet fitting or related construction roles
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and carpentry techniques
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
• Knowledge of construction painting is advantageous but not essential
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
• Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces
• Relevant construction experience including use of construction or hand tools is preferred
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
