Category Manager

The Category Manager will be responsible for managing procurement activities within the industrial/manufacturing sector. This role requires expertise in category management (direct procurement) and the ability to develop and implement sourcing strategies in Warrington.

Description

• Develop and implement category strategies for direct procurement in alignment with business objectives.
• Manage supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance and value delivery.
• Conduct market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements to achieve cost savings and quality improvements.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with operational needs.
• Monitor supplier performance and address any issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards in all procurement activities.
• Provide regular reports and updates on category performance and cost efficiencies.

Profile

A successful Category Manager should have:

• Proven experience in category management within the industrial/manufacturing sector.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• A good understanding of procurement processes and sourcing strategies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using procurement tools and systems.
• CIPs qualification would be desirable but not essential
