Job Title: Manufacturing Cell Leader

Hours: 38 hours- day shift

Job Description:

The Manufacturing Cell Leader will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities within a designated production cell, ensuring targets are achieved across safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.

Working on a permanent day shift pattern, you will lead, coach, and develop a team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment whilst supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high operational standards.

The role requires a proactive and hands-on leader with excellent communication skills and the ability to drive performance whilst fostering a positive team culture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and motivating the production team to achieve daily operational targets
  • Supporting and developing team members through coaching, mentoring, and training
  • Ensuring SOPs, work instructions, and training matrices are maintained and followed
  • Overseeing quality control processes including incoming goods inspection, in-process testing, and final product release
  • Maintaining accurate production documentation and records
  • Promoting a strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement
  • Supporting lean manufacturing initiatives and operational efficiency improvements
  • Assisting with equipment troubleshooting and escalating maintenance issues where required
  • Ensuring housekeeping and GMP standards are maintained at all times
  • Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure smooth operational performance

Skills Required:

  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or process-led environment
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes and quality standards
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and solve problems effectively
  • Experience working within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Chemical manufacturing background desirable
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles including 5S, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies would be advantageous
  • Good IT skills including Microsoft Office applications
