MotionTech manufactures precision engineering components to exacting standards, supplying both stock and customer-specific orders. Based in Tiverton, the team works to tight schedules and takes real pride in the quality of what leaves the factory floor. It's a hands-on environment where knowing your materials and your machines matters.

This is a production role in the Preliminary Cell, working directly under the Prelim Manager. You'll be processing scheduled manufacturing plans - cutting, straightening, and chemically finishing precision slides - with full training given on every machine you'll use. Success here means accurate work, good output, and following the plan.

You'll:

  • Cut and straighten precision metal components to scheduled plans
  • Operate cutting saws, straightening press, bending press, and hardening/blacking cell
  • Follow written and verbal production schedules accurately
  • Differentiate between product types and handle materials correctly
  • Apply safe manual handling and lifting techniques throughout
  • Maintain attention to detail across every stage of the finishing process

What you'll bring

Essential:

  • Some practical experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment is ideal
  • Basic understanding of metalwork and material properties
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately
  • Solid manual handling awareness

Useful, not essential:

  • A Level 2 or 3 engineering qualification
  • Current Counterbalance (Cat B) forklift licence
  • Experience with CNC or press operations

Financial: £12.71/hr starting rate, rising to £13.00 after six months.

Hours: Mon–Thurs 7am–4pm | Fri 7am–12pm | 39 hours per week Location: Tiverton | On-site | Permanent
