Conrad Consulting is pleased to be working with a highly respected multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join their growing team in Reading.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated MRICS Building Surveyor looking to progress their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy environment. The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio of projects within the commercial, healthcare and education sectors, delivering a full range of professional and project-led building surveying services.
The Role
The Chartered Building Surveyor will take a leading role in delivering surveying commissions while supporting client development and contributing to the continued success of the team.
Responsibilities will include:
- Developing detailed project briefs alongside clients and senior colleagues
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Supporting business development initiatives and networking activities
- Undertaking site inspections including measured surveys, condition surveys and defect analysis
- Preparing designs, specifications and tender documentation
- Contract administration duties under JCT and NEC contracts
- Delivering professional surveying services including:
- Condition surveys
- Defect diagnosis
- Dilapidations
- Party wall matters
- Insurance inspections and claims advice
- Reinstatement Cost Assessments
- Coordinating with clients, contractors and consultants throughout project delivery
- Supporting junior team members through mentoring and technical guidance
- Assisting senior management with team leadership, recruitment and project financial monitoring
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying (RICS accredited)
- MRICS Chartered status essential
- Previous consultancy experience within commercial, healthcare and/or education sectors
- Strong technical and report writing capabilities
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or REVIT
- Experience using NBS Chorus preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commercially aware with strong organisational ability
- Full UK Driving Licence
