Conrad Consulting is pleased to be working with a highly respected multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy seeking an experienced Chartered Building Surveyor to join their growing team in Reading.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated MRICS Building Surveyor looking to progress their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking consultancy environment. The successful candidate will work across a varied portfolio of projects within the commercial, healthcare and education sectors, delivering a full range of professional and project-led building surveying services.

The Role

The Chartered Building Surveyor will take a leading role in delivering surveying commissions while supporting client development and contributing to the continued success of the team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing detailed project briefs alongside clients and senior colleagues
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Supporting business development initiatives and networking activities
  • Undertaking site inspections including measured surveys, condition surveys and defect analysis
  • Preparing designs, specifications and tender documentation
  • Contract administration duties under JCT and NEC contracts
  • Delivering professional surveying services including:
    • Condition surveys
    • Defect diagnosis
    • Dilapidations
    • Party wall matters
    • Insurance inspections and claims advice
    • Reinstatement Cost Assessments
  • Coordinating with clients, contractors and consultants throughout project delivery
  • Supporting junior team members through mentoring and technical guidance
  • Assisting senior management with team leadership, recruitment and project financial monitoring

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying (RICS accredited)
  • MRICS Chartered status essential
  • Previous consultancy experience within commercial, healthcare and/or education sectors
  • Strong technical and report writing capabilities
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or REVIT
  • Experience using NBS Chorus preferred
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercially aware with strong organisational ability
  • Full UK Driving Licence
