About the Role

We are currently seeking dedicated and passionate Social Workers to join a well-established Family Support & Safeguarding service across Cambridgeshire. You will play a key role in supporting vulnerable children and their families, ensuring their safety and well being while enabling positive, long-term change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a varied caseload of children and families, ensuring timely, effective interventions that promote stability and positive outcomes.
  • Undertake Child and Family Assessments, Section 47 enquiries, and other statutory duties in line with legislation and local safeguarding procedures.
  • Develop clear, outcome-focused care and support plans, regularly reviewing progress and adapting interventions to meet changing needs.
  • Build strong, professional relationships and carry out meaningful direct work with children, young people, and families to achieve sustainable change.
  • Identify and assess risks, taking proactive steps to safeguard children, including initiating and managing child protection plans where necessary.
  • Work closely with key partners including schools, health professionals, police, and other agencies to deliver coordinated support.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and care plans for court proceedings and represent the local authority where required.
  • Attend and contribute to child protection conferences, core group meetings, strategy discussions, and reviews.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in line with statutory requirements and organisational policies.
  • Participate in regular supervision, reflective practice, and training to continuously develop your skills and knowledge.

About You

  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
  • Experience within children's services, ideally in Family Support or Safeguarding
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • A proactive, resilient, and child-focused approach
