Job Title: Children’s Support Worker (Residential) - Barry

Vetro Recruitment is seeking Children’s Support Workers for children residential services based in Barry. This role offers long days, sleep ins, and waking nights, with the opportunity to make a real, measurable difference every day.

What you’ll be doing as a Children’s Support Worker in Barry

• Support children and young people with day-to-day activities and interests
• Promote independence and wellbeing, within a safe and nurturing environment
• Provide emotional and practical support inside the home
• Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of care plans and guidelines to protect children’s health and welfare
• Support, overcome and help minimise incidents when behaviour can be challenging
• Attend weekends away, holidays, and trips away, supporting the young people to access activities and experiences
• Join weekend and evening activities that reflect individual interests, helping young people build confidence and routines

What you’ll need to be a successful Children’s Support Worker

• A desire to create positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people
• An empathetic, caring, and resilient nature
• At least 6 months experience working with children or within a similar social care setting
• Restraint Training, TMVA (or be willing to undergo the 3 day course)
• A valid UK driving licence
• A current Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to obtain one
• The right to work in the UK
