Civil Engineer

Build Maintain Recruit are working on behalf of a specialist Civil Engineering Design Consultancy based in Poole, who are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join their growing team.

The Role
You’ll be involved in hands-on civil engineering design and project delivery, covering drainage, roads, car parks, flood risk, and general infrastructure projects. The role will include:

• Designing SUDS, drainage systems, and highways layouts

• Site visits, surveys, and construction support

• Hydraulic modelling and feasibility assessments

• Preparing cost estimates, proposals, and contract documentation

• Client liaison and project management responsibilities

What We’re Looking For

• HNC/BTEC or Degree in Civil Engineering

• 5+ years’ experience in civil engineering design

• Strong knowledge of drainage and road design for residential/commercial projects

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) and MS Office

• UK driving licence

• Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Desirable Experience

• Use of design software such as WinDes, Tuflow, HEC-RAS, TEDDS, or S-Frame

• Knowledge of Section 38, 104, 106, 185 & 278 agreements

• Experience in Flood Risk Assessments and infrastructure design

• Working towards professional membership (EngTech, IEng or MICE)
