Class 1 HGV Driver - Flatbeds

About the role

Days/Tramping Package

Basic: Weekly £680.59/£14.48 per hour

Overtime (Mon – Sat): £15.00 per hour

Overtime (Sun): £16.52 per hour

All hours paid for including breaks. All CPC Training provided by DFDS Killingholme during working hours.

You’ll be responsible for transporting a mix of freight using flatbed and curtainsider trailers, ensuring loads are delivered safely, securely, and on time. This is a hands‑on role with a strong focus on load securing, safety, and professionalism.

You will be responsible for:

• Driving Class 1 vehicles on scheduled routes

• Operating both flatbed and curtainsider trailers

• Securing loads using straps, chains, and other equipment to ensure safe transport

• Loading and unloading where required, ensuring even weight distribution

• Carrying out daily vehicle and trailer checks

• Completing delivery paperwork and maintaining accurate records

• Following all driver hours, tachograph, and road safety regulations

About you

You’ll hold a valid Class 1 licence, along with a CPC and digital tachograph card. Experience working with flatbed trailers and load restraint techniques is highly desirable.

You’ll be safety‑focused, reliable, and confident securing a variety of loads. Good time management, attention to detail, and a professional attitude are essential. You’ll thrive in this role if you enjoy a hands‑on driving job and take pride in delivering a high standard of work.
