Prospero's client school is offering a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist school supporting pupils with a wide range of special educational needs, including social and communication difficulties, autism, speech and language needs and learning difficulties, in a calm and nurturing environment.

About the Provision

This specialist primary provision supports pupils from Reception to Year 6. Pupils benefit from a structured, therapeutic environment designed to meet diverse needs including ASC, communication difficulties, speech and language needs and learning difficulties. The school focuses on personalised learning and pupil‑centred development through:

  • Tailored academic and therapeutic support

Your Role

As Class Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver exciting, high‑quality classroom practice
  • Adapt teaching to meet a wide range of needs, including behaviours that challenge
  • Communicate confidently with pupils, families, colleagues and external professionals
  • Motivate, challenge and inspire every child to reach their potential
  • Build strong, trusting relationships rooted in play‑based, relational teaching
  • Work closely with LSAs, therapists and senior staff
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative and therapeutic school culture
  • Support pupils to develop confidence, resilience and independence

This role is suitable for experienced teachers and ECTs, with training, mentoring and ongoing support available.

  • Location: Waterlooville
  • Start Date: September 2026
  • Contract: Long‑term or permanent
  • Salary: MPR / UPR + SEN points

What You'll Need

  • Right to work in the UK
  • QTS or relevant UK teaching experience
  • Ability to teach core subjects
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
  • Recent safeguarding training (or willingness to complete)
  • References covering the last 24 months
  • Full UK driving licence (due to location)

Preferential Experience

  • SEND experience, particularly with communication needs, autism or behaviours that challenge
  • Experience leading or teaching small groups
  • Experience teaching up to KS2
