As CMM Inspector, you will be Responsible for the efficient inspection and verification of precision machined components ensuring adherence to customer specification.
CMM Inspector Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting first-off, interim and batch inspection for machined parts using a variety of measurement equipment
- Ensure accurate and efficient measurement of components through selection of appropriate probes and attachments for the CMM
- Develop and document fixturing requirements for each product
- Generate clear and concise CMM/manual inspection reports which display all customer and manufacturing required outputs
- Analyse CMM reports and communicate any non-conforming measured features and features which are moving towards the limits of tolerance and liaise with production staff to correct any such issues
- Required to perform “customer eyes” visual inspect of final batch components to ensure that customer specification/standard is met
- Review and monitor CMM programs with a view to reducing cycle times whilst maintaining measurement integrity
- Conduct CMM calibration as required
- Compile corrective action reports for non-conforming products and liaise with production staff to ensure correction of any out of specification features
- Sign off jobs as ready to run on completion of satisfactory first off/interim sample inspection
- Assist with the checking of machined parts both in inspection and on the shop floor
CMM Inspector Skills & Behaviours:
- Strong decision maker with logical problem-solving skills
- Can perform duties assigned within the required internal and external customer time constraint demands to achieve on-time delivery
- Quality orientated, demonstrating high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Good communication & organisation skills
CMM inspector Qualifications & Experience:
- Sound understanding of inspection of machined parts whilst employing a wide range of measurement techniques (CMM, vision CMM, Shadow Graph, etc.)
- Practical experience and knowledge predominately of PCDMIS software (Calypso software experience for Zeiss also)
- An ability to understand and interpret complex engineering drawings for dimensional and visual acceptance
- Experience of creating detailed instructions, control plans and standard working procedures
- Relevant industry experience of machined parts inspection employing all commonly used engineering inspection equipment

- Full time, permanent contract, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Once fully trained, you’ll move onto a three-shift rotation, covering early, back and nightshifts
