We are looking for an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy manufacturing environment on a various shift working patterns available. either Monday - Thursday- 21:45-07:00 or Weekends only 3 days a week (Friday, Saturday & Sunday or Day shifts 6:00-15:00, Tue - 7:00-15:00, Wed - 7:00-15:00 , Thurs - 7:00-15:00 , Fri - 7:00-13:00, you may choose one shift pattern. The role involves setting and operating CNC machines, producing components to drawing specification, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilitie
Set and operate CNC milling and/or turning machines
Work to engineering drawings and job specifications
Ensure parts are produced to required quality standards
Complete work within set cycle times and production targets
Maintain a safe, clean and organised working area (5S standards)
Follow all Health & Safety procedures at all times
Support continuous improvement activities where required
Be flexible and support other areas of production when needed
Assist with training and support of other team members when required
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a CNC machining or engineering environment
- Experience setting and operating CNC machines (Mazak/Heidenhain experience preferred)
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Understanding of CNC programming (ISO / G-code and/or Mazatrol)
- Good knowledge of milling and turning processes
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Awareness of Health & Safety in a manufacturing environment
- Good communication skills
- Reliable, hands-on approach to work
- Basic computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
Desirable Skills
- Experience with offline programming (Edgecam, Mastercam or similar)
- Experience in both milling and turning
- Knowledge of Lean / continuous improvement practices
