An established engineering and manufacturing company is urgently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist Engineer to join a growing engineering team. As a CNC lathe operator this is an excellent opportunity to work on a variety of interesting projects supporting both UK and international customers within a stable and supportive engineering environment.

As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for manufacturing precision components and supporting production activities. You will play a key role in ensuring quality, efficiency and engineering excellence across the shop floor.

Permanent – Onsite

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision components
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Using measuring equipment to ensure quality standards are met
  • Inspecting finished components to specification
  • Supporting continuous improvement and productivity initiatives
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, quality and housekeeping
  • Working collaboratively with the wider engineering team

Requirements

  • Proven CNC lathe machining experience (essential)
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use inspection equipment
  • Engineering apprenticeship or City & Guilds qualification (advantageous)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus
  • Positive and reliable team player

Salary & Benefits

£17–£18 per hour (equivalent to approx. £34k–£36k permanent salary)

Annual company performance bonus

Regular overtime available (paid at 1.5x rate)

20 days holiday + bank holidays (rising to 26 days with service)

Working Hours (39 hours per week)

Monday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
Tuesday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
Wednesday & Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm
Friday: 7:30am – 12:00pm (early finish)

Overtime is regularly available during the week and Saturday mornings.
