CNC Machinist - Lead Machinist - 4 Day Week

Elevation Recruitment are working on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Leeds to recruit an experienced CNC Machinist Lead to support the day-to-day running of a busy machine shop.

This is a hands-on, shop-floor-based role suited to a skilled machinist who can take ownership, support others, and play a key part in ensuring efficient production.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 – 16:00

Salary: £18.80 p/h (£39,104) - Overtime available

The Role:

• Operating CNC machines when required
• Setting first-off components for operators
• Proving out new programs alongside development engineers
• Making program adjustments in line with quality requirements
• Supporting and training operators on new jobs using set-up sheets
• Preparing tooling for upcoming work
• Assisting with machine fault finding alongside maintenance
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping across the shop floor

What We’re Looking For:

• Apprentice-trained CNC machinist (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years’ machining experience post-training
• Strong experience with Heidenhain controls, including 5-axis programming (essential)
• Experience with Nicolas Correa machines (desirable)
• Ability to read drawings and use measuring equipment such as micrometers
• Strong problem-solving skills with a methodical approach
• Team player with good communication skills
