A well-established precision engineering manufacturer is seeking an experienced CNC Manufacturing Engineer to join its team in Hinckley. This is a key hire, offering the opportunity to become an integral part of a stable and successful business with a strong focus on long-term employee retention.

The Role

Working within a team of three programmers, you will be responsible for creating CNC programs, supporting production, and working closely with machine operators to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Producing CNC programs for milling and turning components
  • Programming and supporting 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machines, including DMG Mori DMU and Mazak equipment
  • Using CAD/CAM software (currently AlphaCAM, with potential future migration to Hypermill)
  • Providing technical support to approximately 30 machine operators
  • Interpreting engineering drawings and component specifications
  • Optimising machining processes and cycle times
  • Troubleshooting production and programming issues
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floor

About You
  • Minimum 5 years' CNC programming experience within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of CNC milling and/or turning processes
  • Experience programming 3, 4 and 5-axis machines
  • CAD/CAM experience (AlphaCAM, Hypermill or similar packages considered)
  • Able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach to manufacturing support

  • £50,000 - £55,000 salary
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 37-hour working week
  • Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 16:45
  • Friday: 08:00 - 12:00
