We're recruiting for an experienced CNC Miller Setter to join a well-established manufacturing business in Portsmouth. If you're confident setting and operating CNC milling machines and enjoy producing precision components to tight tolerances, this could be an excellent opportunity to join a skilled and dedicated workshop team.
The role
As a CNC Miller Setter, you'll be responsible for setting and running CNC milling machines while ensuring components are produced efficiently and to specification.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC milling machines using Bridgeport/Heidenhain controls
- Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Use precision measuring equipment to maintain tight tolerances
- Work safely and effectively within a machine shop environment
- Complete production and quality documentation
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the workshop
- Communicate effectively with colleagues across the production team
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller Setter or in a similar CNC milling role
- Strong CNC milling and machining background
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Experience using precision measuring instruments
- Good working knowledge of Heidenhain controls
- Good communication skills and a positive approach to teamwork
- Experience with other CNC machinery, including lathes and EDM machines
- Days shift
- 36-hour working week
