About the Role
My client seeking an experienced CNC Miller / 5-Axis Programmer to join their growing precision engineering team manufacturing complex, high-tolerance components for Aerospace, Defence and Formula 1 customers.
The successful candidate will have strong experience programming and operating 5-axis CNC milling machines, ideally Hurco and/or Mazak, with advanced CAD/CAM programming capability using hyperMill. This role requires a highly skilled machinist capable of producing complex components from a range of aerospace-grade materials while working to extremely tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming, setting and operating 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines
- Producing complex precision-machined components for Aerospace and F1 applications
- Offline programming using hyperMill CAD/CAM software
- Editing and optimising CNC programs at the machine
- Working from engineering drawings, CAD models and customer specifications
- Machining a range of materials including aluminium, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel and exotic alloys
- Selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures and machining strategies
- Ensuring parts are manufactured to tight tolerances and surface finish requirements
- Carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspection using measuring equipment
- Supporting continuous improvement in machining methods, cycle times and quality
- Maintaining high housekeeping and health & safety standards
- Collaborating with production, quality and engineering teams to meet delivery schedules
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a CNC Miller within Aerospace, Motorsport, Formula 1 or high-precision engineering
- Strong 5-axis machining experience
- Experience with Hurco and/or Mazak CNC machinery
- Advanced hyperMill programming experience essential
- Ability to create programs from CAD models and technical drawings
- Experience machining complex components and tight tolerance work
- Knowledge of aerospace materials and machining techniques
- Ability to independently set and operate CNC milling machines
What We Offer
- Basic Salary up to £19-£25 Per hour – DOE
- Core working Hours: Monday – Thursday 07:30 to 15:30 / Friday 07:30 to 14:30
- Plenty of overtime available
