Job Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer, Setter & Operator to join a busy manufacturing site. This role is crucial to our operations, taking responsibility for programming, setting, and running CNC milling machines to produce high-precision parts. The successful candidate will be confident working with Tufnol and a range of metals, and will bring strong experience in first-operation milling within an aerospace or high-tolerance engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and run 1st Operation CNC Mills, including Bridgeport (Heidenheim controls) and Haas (Fanuc controls).
  • Set and run additional machinery where required, including lathes, sliding/fixed head machines, and 2nd operations equipment such as grinders, thread rollers, and drill banks.
  • Handle materials including Aluminium, stainless steels, Inconel, and Tufnol.
  • Carry out first-off inspections and job run checks for 1st and 2nd operations parts.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency, aiming to reduce scrap and rework.
  • Ensure machines are maintained and daily checks completed, supporting On-Time Delivery and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Work collaboratively to improve productivity and efficiency, adhering to health and safety regulations and aerospace standards.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience programming, setting, and running CNC mills, preferably Bridgeport and Haas.
  • Strong knowledge of Heidenheim and Fanuc controls.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent measurement skills with varied tooling.
  • Team-oriented with strong communication and attention to detail.
  • Previous aerospace or high-precision manufacturing experience preferred.

Desirable Skills:

  • Ability to set and run additional 1st and 2nd operation machinery including lathes, bar feeders, fixed/sliding head CNC machines.

Benefits:

  • Salary: Up to £35,000 depending on experience.
  • Holidays: 16 days plus 8 bank holidays, including additional Christmas closure.
  • Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 06:45–16:30 (37 paid hours, including 15-minute paid break & 30-minute unpaid lunch).
