Engineering @365 is working with a well-established manufacturer of stainless steel and aluminium components. Due to continued growth, the company is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Setter/Programmer to join its production team.
About the role:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC professional with strong programming and setting skills. Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for taking products through the complete CNC process, from offline programming and machine setup through to quality approval and production handover.
The role involves a mixture of bespoke and batch production work, offering a varied workload and the opportunity to work on a wide range of components.
Shift Pattern:
Rotating shifts:
• Monday – Thursday: 6:00am – 2:00pm / 2:00pm – 10:00pm
• Friday: 6:00am – 12:00pm / 12:00pm – 6:00pm
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and modify CNC programs offline to meet production requirements
• Set up CNC milling machines, including work holding, fixtures, jigs, and tooling
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications accurately
• Conduct first-off inspections and liaise with Quality to ensure components meet specification
• Adjust programs and machine settings where required to achieve optimum results
• Sign off completed setups and hand over jobs to operators for production runs
• Support production of both bespoke and batch-manufactured components
• Monitor machining processes and troubleshoot programming, tooling, or machine issues
• Carry out routine machine maintenance and ensure equipment is kept in good working order
• Maintain accurate production and setup documentation
• Follow all quality procedures, health & safety policies, and safe working practices
What we're looking for:
• Previous experience as a CNC Setter/Programmer within a manufacturing environment
• Strong offline programming experience is essential
• Experience setting and programming CNC milling machines
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Knowledge of G-Code/M-Code programming and CNC machining principles
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment
Desirable:
• Experience machining aluminium components
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, or similar control systems
• Experience with multi-axis machining centres
• Knowledge of CAM software and lean manufacturing practices
