CNC Milling Machinist

Elevation Recruitment are working on behalf of a Derbyshire based manufacturer to recruit a Toolroom CNC Milling Machinist for a site-based role within a busy production environment. SHIFT: 4 on, 4 off, 06:00 - 18:00
SALARY: £19.96 p/hr

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will programme, set and operate CNC milling machines while supporting the manufacture, repair and improvement of tooling for extrusion and injection moulding processes.

• Program CNC milling machines using Powermill software
• Set, run and adjust CNC milling machines
• Monitor machine output and performance
• Maintain extrusion tools, dies and fixtures
• Work to tight quality tolerances
• Support improvements to tool design
• Improve efficiency and reduce waste
• Investigate and resolve tooling faults
• Read and follow technical drawings
• Manufacture tooling parts and components

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with CNC milling machines or similar
• Knowledge of Powermill or similar software
• Level 3 Engineering qualification or equivalent
• Toolmaking or mechanical apprenticeship background
• Able to work well independently
• Strong skills in precision machining
• A proactive approach to problem solving
• Confident reading technical drawings
• Experience working with 3D models
• Material knowledge would be an advantage
