Operating to AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards, we are committed to delivering high-quality precision components using the latest machining technology and integrated automation systems.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Milling Programmer to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced 3-axis CNC Miller who is looking to further develop into 4- and 5-axis programming within a progressive and forward-thinking engineering environment.

The Role

You will play a key role in the production of high-quality precision components, taking responsibility for programming, setting, and operating single, twin-pallet, and multi-pallet 4- and 5-axis CNC machines.

You will be involved throughout the production lifecycle — from receipt of material through to final product realisation — ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Programming

  • Program CNC machines within the department (Fanuc controls) using Edgecam software (training available).
  • Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications to produce accurate machining programs.
  • Optimise programs to improve cycle times and machining efficiency.

Machine Setup & Operation

  • Prepare and set up CNC machines, including loading materials, tooling, and programs.
  • Operate machinery to manufacture precision components in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor machine performance to ensure dimensional accuracy and efficient production.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct regular quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure components meet required tolerances.
  • Complete all Quality Management System (QMS) documentation to a high standard.
  • Identify and correct deviations, making necessary program or setup adjustments.

Tooling & Maintenance

  • Select appropriate tooling for various materials and machining operations.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
  • Report machine malfunctions or maintenance requirements promptly.

Process Improvement

- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimise machining processes and enhance productivity.

- Propose and implement improvements to tooling, programming, and machining techniques.

Safety & Compliance

- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols.

- Follow company policies regarding material handling, waste disposal, and operational procedures.

Our Equipment

You will work with a range of advanced CNC machining centres, including:

  • 2 × Matsuura MAM-72-35V multi-pallet 5-axis machines
  • Fanuc Robodrill 5-axis
  • Brother twin-pallet 4-axis machines
  • 2 × Haas 4-axis machines

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in CNC milling, including programming, setting, and operating.
  • Strong experience machining high-temperature alloys, stainless steel, alloy steels, and aluminium.
  • Proficiency in Fanuc controls and CNC programming languages.
  • Experience with CAM software (Edgecam preferred; training available).
  • Strong understanding of machining techniques, tooling, and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments and quality assurance techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety standards.

Desirable:

  • 4- and 5-axis programming experience (training available).
  • Experience with a range of CNC machining centres and controls.

Benefits

- Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications (salary range to be confirmed).

- Ongoing training and career development opportunities.

- Supportive and collaborative working environment.

Health and retirement benefits package.
