We’re recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner to join a well-established precision engineering business based in Ferndown. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes within a busy manufacturing environment.
The company is looking for a skilled CNC Turner who enjoys producing high-quality components, working with modern machinery, and supporting efficient day-to-day production. Alongside CNC turning work, the role will also involve supporting sliding head machining responsibilities where required.

Role Overview As a CNC Turner, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines
  • Working with live tooling and multi-axis lathes
  • Supporting sliding head machining operations where required
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings accurately
  • Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections using measuring equipment
  • Making programme and offset adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Ensuring machines are set and running efficiently to meet production targets
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working area
What They’re Looking For:
  • Proven experience programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes
  • Experience with live tooling and/or multi-axis machines
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
  • Strong understanding of machining tolerances and inspection processes
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • A reliable, hands-on approach
The following would also be beneficial:
  • Experience with Fanuc or similar controls
  • Sliding head machining experience
  • Background within precision engineering environments
  • Experience producing complex components to tight tolerances
