Commercial Account Handler - Amersham

The Role:
The Account Handler plays an important role in delivering high quality broking services through the effective handling of renewals, mid-term adjustments, documentation, and client queries. This position supports smooth client servicing, strong retention, and full regulatory compliance.
This role is a natural progression from Assistant Account Handler towards Senior Account Handler, offering increased responsibility and technical development, alongside greater engagement with both clients and insurers.

Key Responsibilities:
Client Servicing & Support

  • Support client relationship management alongside the Account Executive, responding promptly to client queries throughout the policy lifecycle.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and understand their insurance requirements.
  • Escalate risks and issues where appropriate.
  • Provide pre-renewal information and maintain oversight of new business and renewals.
  • Prepare and process documentation accurately with strong attention to detail.

Broking

  • Handle new business, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations in line with agreed timelines.
  • Manage workload effectively, especially during complex renewals.
  • Identify cross-selling and up-selling opportunities within client portfolios.
  • Produce high quality client reports that meet regulatory standards.
  • Maintain accurate client records in line with compliance requirements.

Insurer Liaison

  • Prepare detailed broking presentations reflecting the client’s risk profile.
  • Engage with insurers to secure the best terms in line with placement strategy.
  • Build and maintain strong insurer relationships.
  • Keep up to date with market conditions and insurer appetite.

Candidate Profile:
Essential

  • Experience in insurance account handling within a commercial environment
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and client focus
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Working knowledge of FCA requirements and insurance processes

Desirable

  • Progress towards or completion of Cert CII / Dip CII
  • Experience using broking systems such as Acturis or similar
  • Exposure to multiple insurance classes
  • Awareness of Consumer Duty and regulatory developments
  • Experience identifying cross-selling opportunities
