On behalf of our client, a leading specialist in commercial kitchen infrastructure, we are seeking a technically skilled Commercial Catering Engineer to join their regional mobile team. This role focuses on maintaining premium catering assets within a prestigious portfolio that includes luxury boutique hotels, private colleges, high-end gastropubs, and corporate hospitality suites across the Northern Home Counties.

Key Responsibilities

  • PPM & Reactive Repairs: Delivering scheduled maintenance and rapid-response fault-finding on a wide range of gas and electrical catering equipment.
  • Technical Diagnostics: Expertly troubleshooting issues with combination ovens, prime cooking suites, fryers, and high-spec warewashing systems.
  • Gas Safety & Compliance: Ensuring all work is carried out to the highest safety standards and documenting inspections via a digital reporting system.
  • Client Liaison: Building strong relationships with Head Chefs and General Managers, providing technical insights and equipment advice.

Candidate Requirements

The Professional Profile:

  • Qualified Expert: Valid COMCAT 1, 3, and 5 qualifications are essential.
  • Electrical Competency: Strong electrical fault-finding skills (ability to use a multimeter to diagnose component failure).
  • Experience: Proven background in the service and repair of commercial kitchen equipment within high-end hospitality or education sectors.
  • Mobility: Full UK Driving License and a proactive, professional approach to field-based work.

Advantageous Skills:

  • Manufacturer-specific certifications (e.g., Rational, Winterhalter).
  • Commercial Gas tickets (COCN1 / CODNCO1) or LPG qualifications.
