Commissioning Engineer

About this Position

Are you an experienced and passionate PLC Commissioning Engineer with a background in automated machinery within the Automotive Industry? We are recruiting for a skilled engineer to join the commissioning team on-site at Ford’s Dagenham plant. This role is focused on supporting the delivery of key automation upgrades and installations, with a strong emphasis on adherence to Ford FAST Standards.

Key Responsibilities
 

• Commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting PLC (Siemens) software on automated production lines.
• Working directly within the Ford Dagenham automotive plant, supporting the launch of automation systems.
• Ensuring all software and commissioning work aligns with Ford’s FAST Standards.
• Collaborating with on-site teams to deliver smooth integration and ramp-up of production equipment.
• Supporting electrical and controls debugging during the commissioning phase.

Experience Required
 

• Previous experience working within the Automotive industry or Industrial Automation sector.
• Strong working knowledge of Siemens S7-300/S7/400
• Proven experience in commissioning PLC software in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on, proactive approach with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Able to work independently on-site, under time pressure, and to high safety and quality standards.
