Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Commissioning Engineer on a 3-6 month rolling contract based In the Midlands.
Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery, testing, and commissioning of water treatment and wastewater (sewage) treatment plants across the Midlands. The role requires hands-on experience in commissioning within the water industry and the ability to work independently on live sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support commissioning activities for water and wastewater treatment systems.
- Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures, and testing documentation.
- Carry out functional testing, system integration testing, and performance verification.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems during commissioning.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, site teams, and project managers.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Produce accurate commissioning records, reports, and handover documentation.
Requirements
Essential Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Commissioning Engineer within the water or wastewater treatment sector.
- Demonstrable experience working on water treatment and/or sewage treatment plants.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems in process environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and P&IDs.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable:
- Experience with UK water utilities or framework projects.
- Knowledge of PLC systems and process control
