NOW Education are delighted to be supporting a Hodge Hill based Special School — a welcoming community special school dedicated to nurturing pupils aged 3–11 with severe and complex learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD), communication and sensory needs.

The school is committed to working together to achieve success for all and provides a structured, supportive and person-centred environment where every child is encouraged to grow and develop confidence, communication and independence.

We are keen to hear from passionate and skilled QTS Teachers who are confident supporting pupils with Autism and complex needs. We welcome applications from teachers seeking full-time long-term or permanent opportunities, as well as those looking for part-time and/or flexible supply work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils aged 3–11 with ASC and complex learning needs
  • Create personalised learning opportunities tailored to pupils’ EHCP outcomes
  • Support communication, sensory regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and multidisciplinary teams
  • Foster a safe, nurturing and structured learning environment
  • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to assessment and reporting processes
  • Support pupils’ personal care needs where required
  • Build positive relationships with families, carers and professionals

The Successful Candidate Will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Have experience working within a UK SEND setting
  • Have experience supporting pupils with Autism and complex needs
  • Be confident managing behaviour calmly and consistently
  • Demonstrate resilience, empathy and a positive attitude
  • Be reliable, flexible and committed to inclusive practice
  • Have strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Have up-to-date safeguarding awareness and maintain confidentiality
